It was built in the 1730s by Joseph Thompson, and is situated in Nonsuch Park. This is a public park in the west of Cheam, which was previously a deer hunting park established by Henry VIII. Today Nonsuch Park is managed by Epsom and Sutton Councils, and hosts a parkrun every Saturday morning.
Another historic landmark in Cheam is St Dunstan’s Church. This was built in 1864, on the site of a medieval church. It was designed in Gothic revival style by F. H. Pownall, and is Grade II listed.
